WEST LAFAYETTE -Purdue police are exploring the lethal shooting of an understudy at a home lobby early Wednesday morning.

A Purdue representative said one suspect is in guardianship and there is no danger to the local area.

The understuy, distinguished as Varun Manish Cheda, 20, of Indianapolis, is booked for a post-mortem examination later Wednesday.

The emergency call came to Purdue Police at 12:44 a.m. from McCutcheon Lobby.

The suspect, the casualty's flat mate, called 911 and is in care.

In a letter to the local area, Purdue College President Mitch Daniels said the specific subtleties of what happened are not yet known.
